About the Author
Studied architecture at the Architectural Association in London UK and University of London. Taught design and theory at the Architectural Association, The Bartlett School and Kingston University, UK before taking up her current position at UIC in 1997. She has won various European design awards for her architectural work and has acted as visiting professor, critic and lecturer at European and North American architectural and art schools. Trained as an architect at University College London, Lesley has taught in schools in the UK and US and has lectured and published widely on the relationship of social factors to architectural design. Igor Marjanovic studied architecture at the University of Belgrade, Serbia, the Moscow Architectural Institute and the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has practiced and exhibited widely in locations including Brazil, Greece and Finland, and he has won numerous design awards. Igor is currently a practising architect with OWP&P Architects (the largest architectural practice in Chicago), and teaches architectural design and theory at UIC. He is also undertaking reseach for a PhD by Design at the Bartlett School of Architecture in London, UK.
